Giving back to the Community

Charity

We are a community-minded organisation.  Our members include Czechs, Australians, New Zealanders and others.  However different we may be, one thing all of us have in common is that we live here, in the Czech Republic.  

We firmly believe in the importance of giving something back to the local community.

For that reason we focus our charitable efforts on local Czech charities, and especially on those which help children.  

Our showcase event, the Annual Charity Ball, is our primary fund-raising event but other activities also take place throughout the year. 

In addition, as a bridge between the Czech Republic and Australia/New Zealand we also raise awareness of international charity needs.  One example was our fundraising efforts for Christchurch Earthquake Relief during the ANZAC Day commemorations in 2011.

Culture

We have financially supported the Prague Fringe Festival for the past five years, arranged the Kiwi Film Fest and several other New Zealand and Australian film premieres.  We also also helped to finance and/or promote concerts by the Australian Girls Choir, Australian Waratah Girls Choir, Knox Grammar School Orchestra and others.

Sport

We have supported Czech Rugby League for five years, Czech Aussie Rules, the Barbarians cricket team, the Australian Womens’ Floorball team and the Tatra Barbarians kids rugby team.
